For months, I couldn't fall asleep at night. We had started a small business to employ the people within our marginalized community, but didn't foresee how quickly the workload would mushroom and soon, the responsibility for the accounting, the product development, the sales, and marketing became heavy burdens for me to bear. Our background and training didn't prepare us for this and I often felt completely inadequate for the task. Worry was beginning to replace my focus, passion, and joy for the work I had once so deeply loved until I found help within The Momentum Group. I now had professionals volunteering to come alongside and team with us, not only helping us form a correct vision for doing business, but working with us (product development, sales and marketing, etc.)! I'm beginning to dream again, and I have been released to do what I love.

I’m just like so many of the people I know working on the field and serving various communities in need. Many of us came with one role and are now serving in entirely different roles. Times have changed, and we’ve been here long enough to see our work evolve greatly. Almost all of us are now creating small businesses and trying to financially sustain the work we’re doing without dependencies on someone else.

Finding The Momentum Group was a breath of fresh air. It was almost too good to be true having someone willing to help us do the things that so heavily weighed us down. And they knew what they were doing having years of experience in Fortune 500 companies. We're amazed that they want to help us. But they do. And they're passionate about helping.

We’re starting to get back on our feet. Even just walking through some basic consulting exercises with The Momentum Group helped us to see where the holes in our team lie. We also now know what we’re capable of doing and will be better about starting small and taking the appropriate steps when needed. We’re waiting to start some of our projects until we find the right people—something they called ‘getting the right people on the bus.’ We look forward to further partnering to reach these communities in need.
